  • Tim Tebow is still holding on to his NFL dream.

The former NFL quarterback has been hired by ESPN to serve as an analyst on the SEC Network, which starts in August. Last pre-season, Tebow was dropped from the roster of the New England Patriots, but he is still quite outspoken about his desire to continue his career in NFL.

And just to be sure, Tebow has been training nonstop, to be ready in case the NFL comes knocking on his door again. But then again, it’s already June, and if any teams were interested, they would have already given him a call by now.

Tebow told The Tennessean, “I’m training every day and feel like I’m the best that I’ve ever been, I still love it, love playing, talking about it, and I’m just excited about whatever the future holds. Who knows what could happen? But I’m excited about it, though.”

The 26-year-old has not been an NFL starter since the 2011 season. His hope for a comeback has two possible directions: either he can still strike a deal, or he can’t.

If he really desires to come back to the NFL, he may want to considering changing his position, or switching to another league like the CFL. Once he has built himself back up, then there is a small chance that an NFL team might consider signing him on as part of their team.

Being an analyst might not be so bad for Tebow, as this could turn out to be a much steadier gig than the one he had as an NFL quaterback. It is also interesting to know that there was a bidding war for Tebow among several sports networks.

It is admirable that Tebow is still eyeing his dream. Nonetheless, congrats on the new analyst gig Tim!
