  • Rumors have been circulating around the internet that former quarterback and current analyst for ESPN, Tim Tebow, seeks to make a return to the National Football League.

Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer told CBS that Tebow may very well be looking for one final season with the NFL: “You’d imagine how he works. Works every day. He’s hoping. There are some conversations about it. I don’t know too much. There’s hope and he says there’s stuff going on.”

Sports Illustrated reported that Tebow was offered a position in a new A11 Football League. The league’s commissioner Scott McKibben told the magazine: “We have given Tim Tebow a proposed offer to play in the league. At this point Tim has not responded, we respect that.” Initially, McKibben’s offer was given to Tebow last summer, but it has been extended to this season. The name of the new league, A11, comes from a football play where the teams disguise which players are open to catch a pass.

In December, Tebow had been hired by ESPN to cover their new SEC network:

So far, Tebow has not announced any returns to football and will likely spend the season with ESPN. According to TMZ, he was recently offered a guest spot on the VH1 dance drama “Hit The Floor”. He also told People Magazine recently that he plans to adopt and start a family: “Adoption has always been something close to my heart. There are so many kids out there who really need a family.”
