  • Who doesn’t love a good cuddle every now and then? Unless you’re just violently opposed to human contact, a good snuggle is a fantastic way to rid yourself of stress, depression, and general anxiety. However, not everyone has a suitable cuddle partner; somewhere out there, someone is in serious need of human contact, yet he or she has no one to turn to. That’s where University of Rochester graduate Jackie Samuels comes in.

For a mere $60 an hour, you can snuggle with the 29 year-old at The Snuggery, a little place where you can get away, stretch out, and spoon with a complete stranger. According to Samuel, there are over 100 different cuddle position, though she always tends to start out in the generic “spooning position”, with Jackie taking the role of the smaller spoon. Where it goes from there is totally up to the individual, as long as things don’t get weird.

“What I like to do is cuddle, so I figured it was a good thing to do. A lot of people didn’t like the idea so I figured it would be kind of an underground small-scale operation and provide a little extra income,” the entrepreneur explained.

The idea may sound a little bizarre, but apparently it’s starting to catch on. In addition to appearing on Fox News and CNN, Samuel is currently scheduled to appear on both “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” and Sirius XM Radio’s Playboy Radio channel. I’d say that’s pretty good for someone who started out in the business by selling hugs to strangers on the streets of New York,

“Jacqueline established The Snuggery because she believes in the healing power of touch. The Snuggery is a place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life and focus on the simple restorative pleasure of touch,” the website explains. “Though science has unquestionably supported the psychological and physical benefits of non-sexual touch, Americans distinctly lack it. It’s time for change. At The Snuggery, Jacqueline provides individuals with private snuggling sessions. She aims to make the world a gentler place, one snuggle at a time.”

So the next time you need a little snuggle and there’s no one within arm’s reach to provide you with a little human contact, schedule an appointment with The Snuggery. Samuel will be more than willing to help you out. Plus, it sure beats the hell out of ordering a Snuggie and crying yourself to sleep. For more information, stop by the official website.
