  • Teresa Lentz, a Maryland woman who went missing on June 19, has been found unharmed and was reunited with her family on Tuesday night.

Lentz’s disappearance sparked an investigation that went round-the-clock this week after she left home to run errands and never returned. Her car was later found with the keys in it, abandoned near railroad tracks, and her family worried that she may have been abducted. The community of Frederick County joined in to help the investigation, distributing posters about her disappearance in an effort to find anyone with information about her last moments in town. Her children said it would have been unlike her to just leave without telling anyone where she was going, as she was a doting mother.

“She’s the mom that runs me my school bag out to work 45 minutes away because I forgot it,” Shawna Lentz said. “Even when she has a zillion other things to do.”

Finally, after several days of searching to no avail, Teresa returned home and said she’d gone to Virginia on her own. Her reasons for doing so haven’t been disclosed to the media, but the family released a statement saying they were in the middle of a “crisis” and are asking for privacy at this time. Teresa was unharmed.
