Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Secretary of State John Kerry, was hospitalized over the weekend while vacationing on Nantucket with her family after a mysterious “medical episode” that doctors haven’t elaborated much on.

74-year old Heinz Kerry may have suffered a seizure of some kind, but details are scarce for the moment. The family did release a statement through spokesperson Glen Johnson, saying:

“Late Sunday afternoon, Mrs. Teresa Heinz Kerry was taken by ambulance to Nantucket Cottage Hospital, accompanied by her husband. Once doctors had stabilized her condition, she was transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, again accompanied by the secretary. The family is grateful for the outpouring of support it has received and aware of the interest in her condition, but they ask for privacy at this time.”

Heinz Kerry, who is a breast cancer survivor, is said to be in critical but stable condition.
