  • Teresa Giudice was devastated to learn that she and husband Joe would be serving actual jail time after pleading guilty to numerous counts of fraud.

Somehow the Real Housewives of New Jersey star reportedly believed that she and her husband would and should be shown leniency for their illegal behaviors.

While a number of American citizens feel strongly that the two were let off lightly, Giudice reportedly disagrees.

According to Page Six, Teresa intends to sue her bankruptcy lawyer for $5 million.

The Housewives star reportedly blames James Kridel for his failure to correctly document certain assets prior to filing for bankruptcy.

In the official court document, Kridel is accused of neglecting “to perform a reasonable investigation concerning the petition, schedules and statement of financial affairs”.

Teresa Giudice is supposedly shifting the blame to the lawyer after a bankruptcy trustee made the claim that she and her husband had reportedly gone out of their way to hide sources of income.

Not only that, but the New Jersey housewife is said to believe that had it not been for his actions, she and her husband would not be headed to jail.

Adding insult to injury, Teresa Giudice is blaming James Kridel personally for EVERY negative consequence of her family’s fraud scandal.

After pleading guilty to nearly 40 counts of fraud, Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 months in jail and forced to pay $422,000 in restitution. Meanwhile, her husband Joe was sentenced to 41 months in prison with the risk of deportation still hanging over him.

Rather than the two of them serve their sentences at the same time, their defense attorneys were able to negotiate a deal where one parent at a time is jailed, ensuring that their young children spend extended time without both parents.

With this unusual stipulation on top of a rather generous plea agreement (all things considered), it will be interesting to see whether or not any part of Teresa Giudice’s lawsuit proves successful.

Do you think Teresa Giudice has a case or is she merely playing “the blame game”?
