Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have a lot in common. They are both young and attractive stars and it’s pretty easy to see how they could strike up such a close friendship. Both of the girls speak highly of each other often and are seen together at many events. It seemed like their friendship was a lasting one, until Gomez reconciled with her ex, Justin Bieber.

Bieber has been in trouble with the law a lot over the last few months and has several court dates coming up, with one pertaining to his recent DUI arrest. He has also not spoken nicely of Gomez in the past and even called her spoiled at one point.

Bieber’s trouble may have helped him come to his senses, and realize that he wanted Gomez in his life. Earlier this week he sent her $10,000 in flowers and flew from Miami to McAllen, Texas to see her. Just a few days later, Gomez and Bieber attended the SXSW music fest together and Bieber sang to Gomez during a performance.

Sources close to Swift say that Gomez’s willingness to forgive and get back with Bieber is enough to make Swift no longer want to be her friend. Swift had previously said that she considered her and Gomez to be as close as sisters, but sisters don’t forget about each other so easily.

Another reason Swift no longer wants to be around Gomez is that she thinks she used one of Swifts friends, Ed Sherran, to make Bieber jealous. Gomez and Sherran had a brief relationship, but it did not last long.

“After Selena pulled that move, Taylor started distancing herself,” a source close to Swift said.

It isn’t really clear why Swift is so opposed to Gomez and Bieber being together again. Maybe she is just afraid Gomez will get hurt again or maybe she is concerned about her image. Swift is known for her good girl image and wouldn’t want to spoil that by hanging out with Gomez and bad boy Bieber.
