Tara Reid appeared in court this week to address her claim that a crazed woman threw a wine glass at her face during an altercation in a London nightclub last year.

Reid was in town celebrating her birthday in November when she attended the club and says the woman was “not getting enough attention”, so she threw the glass in Reid’s face, causing a scratch on her eyeball and cuts to her face.

“I guess she was not getting any attention. She threw her drink over my chest,” Reid said in a statement to the court. “She went crazy, she went psycho like Naomi Campbell.”

The woman, 27-year old Maryam Hassan, is also accused of verbally abusing a bouncer at the club. Reid says she feared she had been blinded by the glass, but it is not known whether she is seeking damages from Hassan. She did admit in court that she threw her own drink back at Hassan in retaliation.

The “American Pie” actress made headlines earlier this year with her turn in the made-for-television film “Sharknado”, a movie which had the web buzzing in a “so bad it’s good” way. Reid appeared on a Discovery Channel talk show after it aired and discussed her knowledge of sharks in real life, which wasn’t all that much.

ā€œToday, all right, I was, like, ā€˜I don’t wanna, like, really sound stupid when I do this show today, so I learned a little education on sharks. I look up sharks on the Internet and I’m, like, ā€˜whale sharks,’ and I’m, like, oh, that must mean a whale and a shark have sex. And then I think, ā€˜Well, how does a whale and a shark have sex? There’s a thing called whale sharks, so I thought they must, you know. And then I realized that whales are mammals and sharks are animals — they have nothing to do with each other,ā€ she said.
