  • It’s been a long time coming, but Namco Bandai Games has finally launched Tales of Graces f in North America. This is the first Tales game to come to North America since Tales of Vesperia on the Xbox 360 and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World on the Nintendo Wii. Tales of the Abyss 3D doesn’t really count as it was a port of a previous title.

Nick O’Leary of Namco Bandai took to the PlayStation blog to make the announcement. He updated us with a new trailer that shows off the game’s story and unique battle system. It’s sure to be a delight for JRPG fans who have been sorely let down by major releases this hardware generation.

For those new to the franchise or just new to this game, here’s the skinny from the official site:

The newest entry in one of the most fanatically followed series today, Tales of Graces f redefines the fantasy RPG genre with its blend of enthralling depth of story and fast paced, strategic battles. A follow-up to the original Tales of Graces (Wii), Tales of Graces f boasts significant graphical, stylistic, and gameplay enhancements, along with an all-new epilogue to the existing story.

Taking place on the planet Efinea, Tales of Graces f centers on Asbel Lhant as he seeks the strength to protect those he holds dear. Along with his childhood friends and the mysterious and innocent Sophie, he must explore the bonds of friendship as they find themselves drawn into the conflict between three kingdoms competing for dominance of the planet.

Tales games typically fare well with reviews and this one is no different. Game Informer gave the game a 78 while PlayStation: The Official Magazine gave it a 70. More reviews will roll in today as the game hits store shelves.

O’Leary had a second announcement that fans will want to pay attention to. They will be giving away five signed copies of Tales of Graces f at the official Tales Facebook page. The copies are signed by Tales producer, Hideo Baba. They will be announcing details soon.

Check out the trailer and tell us what you think:
