I think we can all agree that it just got ridiculous when they launched Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 not even a year after the original hit. Well, get ready for two more new/old Marvel vs. Capcom games coming your way.

Capcom announced yesterday that Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins would be hitting the PSN and XBLA in September. The two-pack features the first fighters that set the stage for the seminal fighting classic, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. When the game launches laster this year, you can expect to see the re-release of Marvel Super Heroes and the original Marvel Vs. Capcom.

The new release is similar to what we saw with the digital release of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 a few years back. It will feature the smoothed-out HD graphics that we’ve come to expect from these rereleases as well as new features like online play and challenges to complete for achievements.

I had great memories of playing the original Marvel Vs. Capcom, so I can vouch for how wonderful this collection is. As for Marvel Super Heroes, it’s a decent fighter as well. If you can only get one digital fighter this fall though, I would suggest going with the sequel if you haven’t already bought it off the PSN or XBLA. It has way more characters and is just an overall more fun experience. If you want to know where the franchise came from though, this is the way to go.

Here’s the first trailer for the collection. It will be available on PSN and XBLA for $14.99. I’ll see you guys online in Marvel Vs. Capcom. Here’s hoping I still have my skills from 10 years ago.
