  • Coming on the heels of the tragic death of former NFL great Junior Seau, former New York Giant Stacy Robinson died yesterday. He had been in hospice care since May 3rd after suffering a form of blood cancer since 2009.

Robinson won two Super Bowls with the Giants and was just 50 years old. He continued to work with the National Football League’s players union after leaving the game and was highly regarded by teammates and superiors alike. Co-worker Joe Briggs said in a tweet, “If you have played for the league in the last 15 years, Stacy Robinson fought for you. Even if he didn’t know your name.”

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Stacy Robinson,” Giants co-owner John Mara said. “He was a good man who was loved and respected by his teammates and everyone in this organization. His work on behalf of the players association was of great benefit to many players. He will be missed. His family is in our thoughts and prayers.”

Robinson leaves behind a wife and three children.
