  • Shia LaBeouf was in the news a lot last year; the former Disney Channel actor opened up about dropping acid to prepare for a movie role, claimed he was raped during a performance art piece, and was accused of plagiarism after he released a movie that bore a striking resemblance to the graphic novel Justin M. Damiamo by Daniel Clowes. These days, he’s toned down his somewhat odd behavior quite a bit, but he recently took part in an art project that had him performing short pieces submitted to him by art students while standing in front of a green screen. The results have had the web buzzing today after several people used the green screen to make their own projects.

LaBeouf gets particularly into one piece–in which he gives a motivational speech–and it was quickly pasted into several well-known movies, much to the amusement of the web. The actor gives advice to Luke Skywalker, William Wallace, and the audience at a TED talk.

“Don’t let your dreams be dreams. Yesterday, you said tomorrow. So JUST DO IT. MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE.”

LaBeouf grabbed headlines earlier this year with his appearance in the Sia video “Elastic Heart”, in which he performed interpretive dance with Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler. Although there were some concerns that the video sexualized Ziegler--who is just 12 years old–it quickly became one of the most watched videos on YouTube and boosted Sia up the charts.

It wasn’t the first time LaBeouf bared his soul–or his body–for a video; a few years ago, he starred in a Sigur Ros video and showed off a good deal of his anatomy.
