  • Shannen Doherty stepped out and looked great at the Baby2Baby Gala in Culver City, California this weekend.

It’s the first time she’s hit a red carpet since announcing her breast cancer diagnosis in August.

“Such a wonderful evening with inspiring women like @kerrywashington who gave one of the most inspiring speeches and the gorgeous, funny @jessicaalba check out #baby2baby an organization that helps supply necessities for children coming from low income or no income families. Thank you @aliparkerkay for inviting me and letting me be a part of your table filled with such great women. @annemkortright … Love you. And thanks #verawang for making such a comfortable yet stylish dress! Thanks to the amazing @debwakninstylist for years of friendship and her expertise,” she wrote on Instagram.

Doherty revealed her cancer diagnosis when she sued her former management company in August. According to the lawsuit, her out-of-date health care coverage led to a late diagnosis, and a “a likely mastectomy and chemotherapy treatment potentially could have been avoided,” says ET.

The lawsuit claims that “in Nov. 2013, SAG sent the premium invoice to management firm Tanner Mainstain for Plaintiff’s medical insurance coverage for the year 2014. However, Defendants ignored it, failed to pay it (without informing Plaintiff) and then promptly terminated their relationship with [Doherty] effective Feb. 7, 2014.”

Doherty has spent time promoting breast cancer awareness via social media since her diagnosis.
