  • The Today show family prepares to welcome a new member.

Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie wed long-time boyfriend, communication strategist, Michael Feldman over the weekend. The pair began dating in 2008 when Guthrie accompanied a mutual friend to Feldman’s 40th birthday party. They were an official couple that spring. Last May, during Mother’s Day weekend, they became engaged. They made it public the following Monday on Today.

Feldman and Guthrie kept their wedding an intimate affair by making it a small and secret ceremony. Only about 80-90 of their closest friends and family were invited. Some of the guests at the secret wedding were Jon and Dorothea Bon Jovi, Guthrie’s Today colleagues Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Hoda Kotb, and Willie Geist.

The wedding of Guthrie and Feldman took place on Saturday at a location a little outside of Guthrie’s hometown of Tucson, Arizona.

After exchanging vows, the couple said their thank-yous, reminded guests to remain silent about the wedding until Guthrie could make the announcement on Today, and then she and Feldman prepared the guests for a huge surprise. According to People magazine the DJ began playing a recording of NBC News’ “Special Report” music. The couple gazed into each other’s eyes lovingly, and then they told all their guests that Guthrie is four months pregnant. To which the crowd responded with a standing ovation and cheers. During early winter, Guthrie discovered her pregnancy. Before becoming aware of it, she bought her dress and set a date for the wedding. This is the first child for both Feldman and Guthrie.

After Today, Guthrie’s fans greeted her news with tweets of congratulation to her and her husband.

Congrats to Guthrie and Feldman on their big news.
