  • Sandra Bullock last wowed us in Gravity, playing a brave but terrified astronaut who gets caught in a dangerous situation; now, word has it that she wants to tackle a very different sort of role with the story of Tupperware saleswoman Brownie Wise.

The untitled project is being shopped around and Bullock isn’t formally attached to it yet, but producers David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman have reportedly been looking for a home for it and may be checking out Disney soon. The script is based on the nonfiction book Tupperware Unsealed by Bob Kealing.

Wise is best known for her game-changing idea of having Tupperware parties; as a sales exec in the 1950’s, her parties changed the business forever as people all over the country followed her lead, but sadly, she and founder Earl Silas Tupper didn’t always see eye to eye. Tupper eventually forced her out of the business, but not before she made the cover of Business Week–the first woman to do so.

Bullock is in a position to pick pretty much any role she wants after her star turn in the blockbuster Gravity; the film made headlines earlier this year after director Alfonso Cuarón admitted that the studio wanted him to change up quite a few things in the script, including adding a romantic involvement between Bullock’s character and the Mission Control commander.

“With making a film it’s like trying to create a tune in the shower while you have a hundred people singing around you. You have to focus yourself in on the tune that you’re trying to create. Because you have hundreds of people singing different songs at the same time around you,” Cuarón said.

While there are few certainties with the Tupperware film, The Help director Tate Taylor is set to take the helm.
