  • Samsung has been busy with the launch of the Galaxy Note II, and its continued support for the popular Galaxy S III. That doesn’t mean the company is done releasing new phones this year though. It was revealed that the company is set to release a new phone in the Galaxy series, but it might not make it to the US.

Samsung officially announced the Galaxy Premier for availability in November 2012 for the Ukraine. There’s no word yet on if the device will make it to the US, but it could prove to be popular among those looking for the Galaxy S III experience without the high price.

For a cheaper phone, the Galaxy Premier is no slouch. The phone features a 4.65-inch display with a resolution of 1280×720. As for the processor, it features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.1. It also features a 8MP rear camera and a 1.9MP front camera.

As for price, Samsung said that the Galaxy Premier would set Ukrainians back 5,555 UAH, or $680 USD. The unlocked Galaxy S III goes for $699 in the US. The Galaxy Premier would probably go for a bit less after exchange rates, and it would be a lot less under contract.

Earlier this month, Samsung announced the Galaxy S III Mini as another cheaper option for consumers. If both devices end up coming to the US, the Galaxy Premier would be the better choice. Both devices will be cheaper, but the Galaxy Premier is far closer in specs to the Galaxy S III.
