  • Russell Crowe has apologized after reports surfaced of a fight between him and some members of his rugby squad.

Russell Crowe, who co-owns professional Australian rugby team the South Sydney Rabbitohs, reportedly invited his team over for a little bit of drinking and bonding.

But apparently, things got a little chippy – especially between Crowe and player Luke Keary.

Seven News first reported the tiff:

Crowe invited the playing squad to his property near Coffs Harbour, before ripping into a number of players that he considered as underperforming during the 2015 season.

“Off-contract five-eighth Luke Keary stormed out of a drinking session after he was berated in front of teammates,” Seven reporter Josh Massoud said.

“The rant earned a resounding thumbs down, Keary stormed out in disgust as Crowe continued to berate the team’s performance last season, reserving his lone praise for the Burgess brothers.”

Now, Crowe has taken to Twitter to officially apologize for the incident.

“Luke Keary situation entirely my fault. A bit of banter that went too far. I’ve apologised. He is a natural leader and great for our club,” he said.

I guess we can chalk it up to the booze.
