  • Sadly, the “The Biggest Loser” ranch said goodbye to “American Idol’s” season two winner, Ruben Studdard, last night after he failed to lose the 11 pounds he needed to stay in the competition.

“I worked really, really hard this week,” he said during his weigh in. “I swam extra. I walked extra.” His coach agreed with him saying, “Everything I asked you to do, you did it.” Ruben weighed 462 pounds when he first started his journey on the show, and at his last weigh in, he had lost a total of 39 pounds.

“This experience is one of the toughest things I’ve been through,” Ruben admitted. “I’ve been through two-a-day football practices; I’ve been through the ‘American Idol’ experience; I’ve been through a lot of mentally and physically challenging experiences in my life. And this, you know, ranks right up there at the top.”

Even though he is not eligible to win the $250,000 prize, Ruben says he will continue to work as hard as ever in hopes of winning the $100,000 prize. During the finale, contestants who have left the ranch are able to come back for a final weigh in for a chance at the next top prize.

“My goal coming to “The Biggest Loser” ranch was to leave here a changed person,” he said. “I think I reached that goal.” He also gives America a heads up saying, “America, my voice may be soulful, but the next time you see me, my body will be sexy.”

“I gave all I had this week, but it just wasn’t enough to keep me on the ranch,” Studdard wrote in his blog for Parade magazine. “I’m glad that I had the courage to come to the ranch and show the world that you’re never too far away to turn and go right. I may not be the Biggest Loser, but I am a champion!”
