  • Joey Feek may have left her family, friends, and fans too soon but the life she lived will be remembered in her music as well as the stories that Rory Feek has shared in his personal blog This Life I Live. Now, Rory is planning to write a book to keep her memories alive and to “continue to tell their story.”

In a previous interview with People, the country musician revealed that it was Joey who encouraged him to write their story and many other stories that would inspire many people. Rory has chronicled his wife’s painful battle with cervical cancer on his blog. Through his blog entries, the country musician proved his storytelling prowess.

“She talked to me about how she wants me to continue to tell our story, and other stories,” Rory Feek shared in January. “This past spring I co-wrote and directed my first film, and she wants me to go on and continue writing and making more movies.”

Rory co-wrote a movie called Josephine, a story about a Civil War wife who disguised herself as a man in order to join the Confederate Army and find her missing husband.

He continued, “And she’s also encouraged me to write a book. Joey and I have both experienced the power of living, and telling a great story, so I hope to be able to continue writing and being part of a great story.”

Rory hopes that by sharing their journey and his wife’s life through his book, he will be able to help people who are in similar situations.

Meanwhile, the couple’s last album Hymns That Are Important to Us topped the Billboards country and contemporary Christian charts and was No. 4 on the top 200 chart, just days before Joey died. Rory Feek said they hope that their songs will “bring some joy and light” in times of need.
