Ronda Rousey: Cyborg Is Desperate For A Fight

  • Ronda Rousey has risen through the ranks of the women’s division of UFC with an impressive record–undefeated, in fact–and while her skill is impressive to many, others find it a challenge.

Cris “Cyborg” Justino is one of those people, and has been working for months to make weight in order to fight Rousey. While some might be intimidated by Rousey’s insane resume (a 14-second victory over Cat Zingano earlier this year, for instance), Cyborg says she finds it annoying that she’s worked so hard and still hasn’t been able to drop to 135 pounds in order to take her on.

“I have a professional nutritional guy and he helped me much easier to make 145. I can 100-percent make it. I’m ready for this fight. When she was in Strikeforce, I wanted to make the fight. I try 100-percent to make 135. It’s annoying. I want to fight her,” Justino said.

Ronda Rousey has built up quite a reputation, and for Justino, winning the fight would be about more than just a belt.

“All fighters want to be a champ in the UFC. I think for now it’d be great to see me and Ronda fight. I don’t want her belt. I just want to fight her. Let’s go fight. Let’s go meet at 140. Let’s do it,” she said.

UFC president Dana White said that the fight will happen as long as Justino makes weight, but back in February he joked that he might have to start putting Rousey up against male fighters since she was having no problem running through the women.

“She’s gonna have to start fighting men if she walks through Cat Zingano. If Ronda Rousey walks through Cat Zingano the way she has walked through every body else, I don’t know what to do with her,” he joked.
