Rick Springfield, heartthrob to millions of chicks in the ’80s after his hit “Jessie’s Girl” and stint on “General Hospital” shot him to stardom, plead no contest to reckless driving following an arrest last year. The singer was pulled over on Pacific Coast Highway for speeding, but when officers smelled alcohol things quickly went from bad to worse. Reportedly, Springfield also threatened to kill one of the officers–and his family–if he tried to have his beloved ’63 Corvette towed.
However, Springfield won’t face jail time, but will instead serve three years probation and attend a mandatory alcohol education program. It seems that either the mask has fallen (with a thud), or else he took his role on “Californication” a little too seriously. (NSFW language)
