Capcom announced that Resident Evil 6 will launch on the PC on March 22, 2013. The game will feature all of the additions that just launched on the console version including a better camera, the “No Hope” difficulty mode, and having Ada’s campaign unlocked from the start.

The PC-specific additions are the usual features that you see on Steam supported games. The game will feature cloud saves, Steam achievements, Friends support, game overlay and leaderboards. More interesting, however, is the game’s required and recommended system specs. They imply that the game is going to get some visual upgrades as well if the recommend specs are any indication:

    Minimum specs

    OS: Windows Vista/XP, Windows 7, Windows 8

Processor: Intel CoreTM2 Duo 2.4 Ghz or better, AMD AthlonTM X2 2.8 Ghz or better

    Memory: 2 GB RAM

Hard Disk Space: 16 GB free hard drive space

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS or better

    DirectX: 9.0c or greater

    Sound: Standard audio device

    Recommended specs

    OS: Windows Vista/XP, Windows 7, Windows 8

Processor: Intel CoreTM 2 Quad 2.7 Ghz or better, AMD PhenomTM II X4 3 Ghz or better

    Memory: 4 GB RAM

Hard Disk Space: 16 GB free hard drive space

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 or better

    DirectX: 9.0c or greater

    Sound: Standard audio device

In other news, a second update will be hitting Resident Evil 6 on January 22. This update unlocks Agent Hunt mode from the start, adds stage selection from within chapters, and a QTE assist mode that completes all those pesky QTE challenges automatically. This update will also ship with the PC version in March.
