  • The proverbial cup of 41-year old actress and fashion model Rebecca Romijn runneth over lately … as far as television series go.

Romijn, who played a very blue Mystique in the X-Men films, is set to host Skin Wars, a new skin painting competition show on Game Show Network.

The show highlights contestants who perform challenges containing body paint. At the end of each episode, one contestant is eliminated.

Along with Romijn, other hosts include RuPaul and body painting icons Craig Tracy and Robin Slonina.

But Skin Wars isn’t the only series that Romijn is busying herself with, as she’s still working on filming the first season of TNT’s The Librarians.

The Librarians, a spinoff of three “Librarian” TNT TV-movies, has been filming in the Portland area since March. It stars Noah Wyle (Falling Skies) who plays Flynn Carsen, a librarian turned adventurer who discovers the library where he works is actually an ancient repository of historical and magical artifacts.

Romijn plays Eve Baird, a counter-terrorism agent whose job it is to protect Carsen, the team, and the secrets and objects of the library.

“There’s a lot of running around,” Romijn said of the upcoming show.

Other stars in the show include John Larroquette and Christian Kane, who co-starred as tough guy Eliot Spencer in TNT’s 2008-2012 series Leverage.

Executive producer and showrunner John Rogers recently explained a little bit about the show to a group of journalists.

Carsen, Wyle’s character, has “always been a solo hero,” Rogers said, “and we have this great, giant magical library and we have all these fun adventures. I created ‘Leverage’ with Chris Downey and Dean Devlin and I’ve always liked team shows. I like shows where there’s a bunch of people working together, building a family, playing off each other’s problems and issues, and that drives the personal drama along with the external drama. And also, I’m a big conspiracy freak. I love legends. I love conspiracies, I love stories, I love weird science stories, lost cities, bizarre organizations.”

Romijn spoke of the production crew, many of the same who worked in Leverage, by saying “They’re already a well-oiled machine.”

The Librarians debuts on TNT in December. Skin Wars can be seen on GSN starting on August 6.
