  • While Kim Kardashian was attending a wedding with her new husband Kanye West, her ex Ray J, who was responsible for the famous 2003 sex tape that put Kim’s name on the map, was busy getting arrested.

The reality star and rapper, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr., was arrested on Friday, May 30 after police officers responded to a complaint that Ray J had inappropriately touched a woman at the bar at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.

The officers arrived at the hotel at around 7:30 pm, and determined that the altercation between Ray J and the unidentified woman was simply an accident. The officers asked him to leave, to which he agreed, but then he became irate with the hotel staff as he made his way out.

“He subsequently entered the valet area and became belligerent with the valets and refused to leave,” said a statement from the Beverly Hills Police Department. The hotel security staff asked Ray J to leave several times before they finally contacted the police again. The officers again arrived at the scene and took him into custody, placing him in the backseat of a patrol car.

“He became belligerent and used his feet to shatter the side window of the police vehicle,” the statement continued. The officers then removed Ray J from the car to place feet restraints on him. That is when the statement explains that Ray J “became combative and spat into the face of one of the officers.”

Ray J was arrested and charged with trespassing, vandalism, resisting arrest, and battery on a police officer. His bail was set at $20,000. He has since made bail and is scheduled to appear in court on July 25 at the Airport Courthouse.
