  • Rachel McAdams seems to be experiencing a significant rise in her career lately.

Probably still best known for her gorgeous role in The Notebook, Rachel McAdams went on to roles that ranged from silly, as in Wedding Crashers, to roles that were a little more serious, like in Sherlock Holmes.

But it is her latest role in Spotlight that has earned Rachel McAdams an Oscar nomination and, possibly, a more serious trend in her career.

Rachel McAdams’ nomination for her role in Spotlight was a little unexpected according to an article on Time.

The article read, “Most of the attention for Spotlight’s acting has gone to its entire ensemble, as well as to Mark Ruffalo, who also got an Oscar nod for supporting actor.”

Congratulations to #SpotlightMovie for its six Academy Award Nominations including BEST PICTURE. #OscarNoms

It went on to say, “McAdams’ inclusion in the supporting actress field is a welcome nomination for a movie with acting so good across the board, it was hard to know who to shine the spotlight on.”

The incredible talent that Rachel McAdams possesses has her very busy in the next several months.

Rachel McAdams is currently filming the highly-anticipated Dr. Strange with Benedict Cumberbatch.

Rachel McAdams is also in talks for a role in the upcoming film, Collateral Beauty. Should she get the role, she would be working with the likes of Will Smith, Edward Norton and Helen Mirren.
