Queen Elizabeth’s birthday parade is scheduled for June 4 and will stretch around such London landmarks like the New Palace Yard and the Cenotaph war memorial and eventually ends up at Buckingham Palace. However, if you still want to follow the Queen’s route come parade day, or if you simply can’t wait to watch the real parade, Google Earth has put together a virtual bird’s eye tour of the procession (by the way: nice use of Handel’s ‘Zadok the Priest,’ Google).

Previously, Google Maps partnered up with Historypin and invited users to share their personal photos so they could be added as part of an interactive map that showcases the Queen’s 60-year reign. Additionally, for the really enthusiastic fans of the British monarch, the official site for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee offers a chance for people to send a personal message to the queen.

The Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth is a year-long event in the United Kingdom celebrating Her Majesty’s 60th anniversary of ascending to the throne. Taking this year’s celebration with last 2011’s Royal Wedding madness, the world is getting a great education on some of the more formal idiosyncrasies that comes with being a British monarch in the 21st century.
