  • There’s a general stereotype that describes programmers as nothing more than pale introverts who sit in front a computer all day typing strings of code. It wasn’t exactly accurate, but most programmers really did just type code all day. Now these same programmers and some new blood are beginning to explore the boundaries of what’s possible with their code.

PBS’ excellent Off Book series published a video this week that looks at the Creative Coding movement through the eyes of some of the most progressive programmers in the industry. These programmers are creating what could possibly be classified as post-postmodern art or even something entirely new as these men and women are exploring the boundaries of what can be done with art. The results are nothing short of fascinating.
