  • Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres are no doubt making strides in salvaging their marriage since the two just purchased a pricey Beverly Hills condo together.

“Ellen and Portia just purchased an entire floor of a luxury building in Beverly Hills. It is very centrally located, right in the heart of everything that they do in Hollywood. They still have the land and the space they love in Santa Barbara, but this spot offers the convenience that they need,” a source says.

The couple’s new digs come with a fitness center, a pool, a full service concierge, and a 24-hour staff. This doesn’t sound like the kind of place a couple buys if they’re in the throes of a separation or a divorce. No, it sounds way more like an investment a couple quite heavily invested in their marriage might purchase instead.

Some of the recent divorce rumors about Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have no doubt come from a new tell-all book about the couple. Written by Randy Jernigan, the book claims that Ellen and Portia’s marriage had trouble from the start.

“Ellen tries to keep Portia to herself…She’s afraid of losing her to a younger woman, so she won’t allow Portia much of a social life,” Jernigan reportedly said during a recent interview.

The book, in all likelihood, is a trashy one, with its facts and sources coming straight from the tabloid headlines.

It’s encouraging to learn that things are looking up for Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres. Every couple experiences ups and downs. Living in the media spotlight sometimes makes things sound worse than they really are.
