From her grueling divorce battle with ex-NFL star Kordell Stewart, to the highly publicized brawl on the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion, the 32-year-old reality TV starlet has been making headlines quite regularly.

However, now that the dust is finally starting to settle, she’s speaking out about her personal life without any reservations.

On Monday, April 28, Williams stopped by Access Hollywood. Although she initially came to the show to promote her new single “Flatline,” the interview took an interesting turn when she shared details about the meaning of the song.

She revealed that some aspects of the record touched on the domestic violence she experienced during her two-year marriage to the former Pittsburgh Steelers’ star quarterback.

“The video [“Flatline”] does touch on domestic violence and some abuse I  encountered in my marriage. It’s not exact to what I went through, because,  honestly, what I went through was a little bit worse in some instances.”

The shocking admission opened the door for more questions. “What happened in the marriage? Did he hit you?,” the host asked, hoping Williams would elaborate, and she did.

“Abuse. Physical abuse,” Williams specified. “Yeah. There were several different occasions that this happened,” she answered.

“When you’re in an abusive situation, it kind of just builds, and it starts to get worse and worse. And people ask me, ‘why didn’t you tell anybody or call the police?’ or what have you. I just thought that I could make it better. I honestly thought after each  situation that I would change this or I would change that, and, therefore, the outcome wouldn’t be the same. It doesn’t work like that. I’m still realizing now that a lot of what happened, it wasn’t my fault.”

She also revealed that her claims are actually backed by court documentation, as Stewart reportedly admitted to the abuse during their divorce deposition. However, Stewart has since contacted Access Hollywood to refute the abuse claims and gay rumors.
