  • We heard a rumor that there was a fairly big change to the way that Sony uses it’s Playstation Plus program. At the heart of this rumor was that Sony was going to start offering a ton more free games than they use to. Like up to 61 more free “A” type games a year.

This rumor has been confirmed at today’s Sony press conference. Sony, today, is releasing 12 games with a current PSN value of over $260 as soon as the store updates. The program will be in place and at the end of June, 2 new titles will cycle in and 2 old titles will cycle out. So look for everyone to be running to the store to buy the 320GB bundle very soon, mostly because I know I will run out of space on my HDD by the end of the night!

Here is the complete list from the PS Blog:

    Virtua Fighter 5 – June 5th
    inFAMOUS 2 – June 5th
    Little Big Planet 2 – June 5th
Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One – June 5th
    Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – June 5th
    Just Cause 2 – June 5th
    Saints Row 2 – June 5th
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light – June 5th
Hard Corp: Uprising – June 5th
    Choplifter HD – June 5th
Zombie Apocalypse Never Die Alone – June 5th
    Sideway NY – June 5th

So there you go, tons of free content! I know that there are a lot of games here that I would have never played if it wasn’t for this free PS Plus program, so I for one am stoked! If Sony can keep this up, we will be looking at over $1500 of free games a year for just $50. Get yours today and watch your bandwidth get eaten up!
