  • Pinterest and Vevo announced some new integration today, which enables Vevo users to easily share video content from the new Vevo player on the web or the Vevo IOS app to Pinterest. Users can share content to their Pinterest boards right from Vevo.

“Create a visual mixtape today with music videos, original shows, live concerts and more,” suggests Pinterest’s Vaishali Parekh. “To get started, check out Vevo’s video collections—Top of the Charts is my favorite!”

A post on the Vevo blog says:

At Vevo, our mission is to help people find and enjoy the world’s premium music video content when, where and how they want it. That’s why we are thrilled to partner with Pinterest, the visual discovery tool and a great place to curate and share your favorite music videos.

Pinning your favorite Vevo videos couldn’t be easier. We’ve added ‘Pin It’ to the sharing options alongside all of our videos on Vevo.com and our iOS apps (more apps are coming soon). Just select the “Share” icon underneath any video and choose Pinterest. If you’re not already signed in, you’ll be prompted to log into Pinterest, then just select the board to save. Once you add a description (or keep the one that loads automatically) and Pin, select “See It Now.” The video will start playing directly in the Pin at Pinterest.com or within the Pinterest iOS app.

As Pinterest continues to evolve into a more robust search platform, it should become a better tool for online video discovery. YouTube and Vemeo have also made similar integrations. The better Pinterest gets at offering content of all kinds, the more valuable it will be as an ad platform.
