  • Paw Eh, a 31-year-old mom of three from Dallas, has been arrested and charged with attempted capital murder. Eh allegedly forced her four-year-old son to eat ant poison.

People magazine reports that Paw Eh was taken into custody on Saturday after a witness called police.

Eh unsuccessfully attempted to poison her seven-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter. The Dallas Morning News shared this information with People after obtaining an affidavit of the charges against Paw Eh.

The affidavit states that Paw Eh mixed ant poison with water and forced it into her four-year-old’s mouth with a spoon, making him swallow the mixture. The two older children escaped when they saw what she did to their brother. They ran to their grandmother’s nearby apartment and the grandmother dialed 911.

The four-year-old is hospitalized in serious condition, and is expected to survive.

Paw Eh is being held on $500,00 in the Dallas County Jail. She has not yet entered a plea.

The two older children have been placed in foster care.

What makes a mother snap and want to kill her children? Is it mental illness or simply a complete detachment of emotions?

Paw Eh could have given her children up. Any mother has that right. Harming a child–or worse, attempting to murder a child–is reprehensible.

It will be interesting to learn more information about Paw Eh as it is uncovered.

Surely hearts are going out to these poor children, who not only are now in foster care, but must live with the notion that their mother wanted them dead.
