  • Paulina Slagter and Ryan Phillippe, who proposed to the law student over Christmas, stepped out for a happy engagement celebration that included dancing and champagne.

Hours after E! News confirmed the engagement, Slagter and Philippe took the celebration to club Rockwell in Miami with DJ Khaled and Quincy Combs. Ryan and Paulina drank champagne and danced together all night long.

“They were very loving,” a source told E! News, noting that the couple seemed “extremely happy.”

Ryan, 41, was previously married to Reese Witherspoon from 1997 to 2006 and had two children with teh Oscar-winning actress — daughter Ava Phillippe, 16, and son Deacon Phillippe, 12. This will be Paulina Slagter’s first marriage.

Ryan made the rounds after his divorce, dating celebrities which included Abbie Cornish, Alexis Knapp (with whom he fathered his third child) and Amanda Seyfried, before making a lasting commitment to Paulina, whom he has been dating for five years.

“She’s awesome. When people see her they have these judgments because she could be a model but she’s about to graduate Stanford Law,” Phillippe gushed in an interview with Howard Stern in April. “Also what’s great about it—as you get older certain issues become more important to you. I’m very involved in civil rights issues, and so to be with a woman who could actually make an impact in the legal realm—that’s a beautiful thing.”

At the time, Philippe hinted that a walk down the aisle was a possibility. “It’s [serious],” Ryan said of his relationship with Paulina Slagter. “I’m not opposed to [getting married again].”
