Number one is that the announcers get much more nostalgic about their playing days. Number two is that the cameras seem to start paying way more attention to the crowd than the game. You start getting way more replays of people doing the wave, and of fans catching foul balls, and especially of little kids enjoying the greatest game on earth.

We all know that drinking and playing baseball do not work well together. But drinking and watching baseball, it is the only way to go, especially these days in San Diego. Yesterday in the bottom of the 7th inning a foul ball was hit into the second row along the third base line. The ball dropped to the concrete between seats but as it caromed around, it ended up finding a home in this dude’s beer. So naturally he did what every single red blooded American who drinks would do in his place. He stopped for a quick picture and then destroyed the $9 beer. He gets high points for drinking the beer quickly with a ball in it, but he loses points for the ending. Who drops a ball that was in your beer? Epic Win or Epic Fail?

I could totally hang with this dude. #bros Foul ball in fan’s beer cup http://t.co/sWfg2Ety(image) 6 hours ago via Tweet Button ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

Padres should do “Foul Ball in a Cup Night”. 3/4 cup of beer and under a divider at the bottom is a baseball. Bonus coverage.(image) 6 hours ago via web ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto
