  • OneRiot has just announced some additions to its realtime search API. "We are integrating Facebook data into the stream, so Facebook users who publicly share links on their profiles are now influencing the realtime search results available through OneRiot’s API," Meredith Bagnulo with OneRiot tells WebProNews. "In doing this, OneRiot now reflects the pulse of a much broader social web."

"Meanwhile, as you may know, third party developers can monetize their apps via our API by opting in to display our RiotWise ads for the realtime web," she adds. "In this new API release, we’ve also added self-optimizing algorithms to determine which ads will be displayed to third party applications, based on the behavior of their users. This not only increases click-through rates, but also drives better customer engagement."

OneRiot Adds Facebook data to API

According to OneRiot, the API powers over 100 realtime web and mobile applications. Facebook’s huge user base and the data from that will contribute greatly to the usefulness of the API and the apps that utilize it. It will likely also encourage many more apps to utilize the API period.

To date, OneRiot has been indexing data fromTwitter, MySpace and Digg. Facebook is obviously a huge addition.
