  • A pickup truck parked behind a house in North Hollywood was the recent scene for an explosion. The sound from the explosion was heard sometime between 12:25 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. at the location of 11318 Miranda Street, according to Los Angeles police Sgt. Mike Kammert. The sound woke residents in the neighborhood while the force blew out nearby windows.

Police and firefighters determined that the explosion came from a propane tank located inside the cab of the truck, which was strong enough to blow off the roof of the vehicle. After noticing the propane, the LAPD bomb squad was called to report to the scene.

Residents within a block of the truck explosion were asked to either voluntarily evacuate or to seek shelter within the area. Thankfully, there have been no fatalities or injuries as a result of the blast. At this time, the owner of the vehicle has not publicly given any information, and it is unclear whether the owner has even been contacted. The exact cause has not been revealed though officials have indicated that the propane was the cause.
