  • Apple’s rumored foray into the world of culinary categorization has finally commenced, as you can now sort apps in the App Store by a new category: Food & Drink.

    The category, which likely pulled most of its apps from the “Lifestyle” category (and perhaps “Travel” and a couple more) houses everything from recipe apps to drink mixing apps to restaurant locators. The new Food & Drink category is where you’re going to find some of the App Store’s most popular apps like Urbanspoon, Allrecipes, and Epicurious.

    As of the writing of this article, there are 2863 app (free and paid) available for download within the category.

    The top paid app is currently Food Network in the Kitchen, which features recipes from all the Food Network stars. It’ll run you $1.99. The top free app is the Starbucks app.
