  • Noah Chamberlin, the two-year-old who disappeared a week ago while walking in the woods with his family, was found dead on Thursday, not far from his home in Pinson, Tennessee.

Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver and Madison County Sheriff John Mehr announced the devastating news during a press conference, calling the little boy’s death “a tragic accident” and squelching rumors that foul play was involved.

“We have found Noah Chamberlin,” Sheriff Weaver said, choking back tears. “He was located about one and half miles from his home where he went missing from. The family’s been notified.”

Noah Chamberlin was out for a walk in the woods with his family one week ago when he went missing. Hundreds of volunteers joined law enforcement officials in the search.

“Everyday we expanded our search further and further,” Madison County Chief Eric Turner said. “This was an area–it was on the outskirts of what we had searched and we were back searching it for the second time. It was right on the borderline of where we’ve been searching. They walked up on him.”

An autopsy will be conducted on Noah Chamberlin, but authorities say no criminal investigation will be opened, meaning they are certain no foul play was involved in the child’s death.

The family of little Noah Chamberlin is no doubt heartbroken. This tragedy will leave an indelible mark on their hearts and in their lives.
