  • Nikki Ferrell of The Bachelor is engaged to boyfriend Tyler Vanloo.

The 29-year-old nurse announced the happy news Monday by posting photos of Vanloo’s proposal to social media.

The engagement comes less than 15 months after her split from Season 18 Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis, which was a questionable match from the get-go.

“And on the last day of vacation this happened! I can’t wait to marry my best friend. Over the moon happy right now!” Ferrell captioned her post.

According to a report by UPI, the couple are longtime friends who reconnected in 2015.

Host Christ Harrison confirmed the engagement Monday on the Season 20 premiere after show, Bachelor Live, which features Ben Higgins, who placed third on The Bachelorette Season 11 with Kaitlyn Bristowe.

“Nikki Ferrell is engaged,” said Harrison. “She finally got the engagement she always dreamed of.”

Nikki’s season was somewhat controversial. She won Season 18 in March 2014, but failed to receive a proposal from 34-year-old Galavis on the finale. The two continued to date into October 2014, when she finally split from the soccer player.

“It didn’t end because we didn’t love each other or [over] a lack of communication,” Nikki Ferrell told Harrison on The Bachelor Season 19 premiere in January 2015. “It just ended because of a difference of lifestyle … We gave it a good try, but we’re two different people.”

The Bachelor airs 8 p.m. ET Mondays.
