  • Sunday night Nicole Scherzinger returned to the X-Factor UK.

Scherzinger spent one year as a judge on the American version before taking a two year gig on the UK one. She left the show to focus on her music and recording her latest album.

Scherzinger’s unique brand of advice and personality made her popular among the British public. In 2012, Scherzinger had two of her contestants in the finals, James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas. Arthur took home the crown.

The former Pussycat Doll went on stage Sunday to sing her recently released song “Run.” The performance was stripped down with no effects and just Scherzinger’s voice and an accompanying piano.

On The X-Factor spin-off show, Xtra Factor, Scherzinger revealed that she didn’t want her performance completely without production theatrics. The stage suffered a power failure. Her performance was supposed to have lasers behind her, but couldn’t due to the power outage. She settled for a few moving background lights.

Despite the blunder, many X-Factor viewers were completely impressed by the performance.

A couple days prior to it, Scherzinger released the official video for “Run”.

The singer moves throughout various rooms in a mansion as she emotionally reacts to the lyrics of the song. In “Run”, Scherzinger warns other girls from dating her ex, to spare them the heartache. The emotional song is the newest release from her second solo album, Big Fat Liar, which became available in the UK on October 17. It scheduled for an early 2015 release in the US.

Next month, Scherzinger begins performing in Cats at the West End. If she performs just as emotional in Cats as she does singing run, it’ll be show-stopping.
