  • Nicole Brown Simpson was brutally murdered twenty years ago–most people believe by her ex-husband O.J. Simpson–although the football player and actor was acquitted of the crime. Her father, who lived through the horror of losing a child in such a sudden, brutal manner, died on Thursday at the age of 90. A civil jury later found O.J. Simpson liable for the deaths of both Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

Louis Brown, Jr. took some comfort when the verdict of that civil suit was read.

“I want to get outside and scream,” he said to the Associated Press at the time.

The jury awarded $33.5 million in damages.

Louis Brown, Jr. and his daughter Denise founded a charitable organization in memory of Nicole Brown Simpson. Its purpose is to raise awareness of domestic violence and to provide funds for those requiring assistance.

None of this, however–the verdict or the starting of this foundation–could bring back Nicole Brown Simpson, and Louis Brown, Jr. and his wife no doubt thought of her and her brutal murder every day of their lives. Her father likely took a feeling of betrayal on the part of O.J. Simpson to his grave.

Louis Brown, Jr. died in the seaside community of Dana Point, California, according to an email sent on behalf of the family by attorney Natasha Roit. She added that his wife–Nicole Brown Simpson’s mother Judi–and children were with him at the time of his passing.

“It was his wish to remain in his home with those he loved,” Roit added in the email.

Nicole Brown Simpson will never be forgotten. Can you remember where you were on the infamous day the nation watched O.J. Simpson take that senseless ride in his white Bronco? At least father and daughter are together once again. May they both rest in peace.
