Marvel and Columbia Pictures certainly don’t want you to forget, releasing these new publicity stills before The Avengers release. Word is The Avengers will also have a full Spider-man trailer attached.

The new stills maintain the darker tone of this film compared to the Tobey Maguire vehicles. I like this side of Peter Parker. And I mean a real dark story, not the cheesy Emo Parker from Spider-man 3.

Emma Stone looks great as Gwen Stacy, and the new spider-man costume has toned down the gayness quite a bit. It looks much cooler than the previous installment.

In case you missed them, I’ve included some of the best stills released so far:

These show detailed views of the web apparatis. The creators decided to get in touch with spider-man’s roots on this new series. In the original Spider-man, Peter Parker creates web-shooters to go with his new persona. It isn’t an effect of the radio-active spider bite.

Another instance of the creators returning to spiderman’s roots is the incorporation of Gwen Stacy into the story. Gwen was Peter Parker’s original girlfriend, only later in the series is he involved with Mary Jane.

It will be interesting to see if The Amazing Spider-Man follows The Avenger’s with their agressive marketing campaign. I would like to leave something to see when I pay at theater, not having seen the majority of the film before hand. July 3rd is still a long way away, so we’ll see what they have planned for us.
