  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City may not have been one of the numbered GTA games, and it may not have been set in the legendary Liberty City, but the game is still remembered by fans of the series as one of the most fun titles Rockstar has created. Most of the reason for this is the game’s setting: an 80s-era, Miami-inspired costal city where drug running seemed to be a way of life. Also, motorcycles and helicopters were introduced to the GTA series through Vice City, providing fantastic ways for players to launch Tommy Vercetti, the main character, through the air to his death.

This week, Rockstar brought gamers a nice dose of nostalgia with a brand new GTA: Vice City trailer. The video celebrates the 10th anniversary of the game and reminds everyone just how steeped in nostalgia for the 80s the game itself was. The cars, lighting, clothing, and music all unapologetically project the Miami Vice and Scarface 80s culture in the U.S.

Speaking of the music, the soundtrack to the trailer is Laura Branigan’s “Self Control.” The song is featured on the Flash FM radio station in Vice City.

The video also serves as a launch trailer for the upcoming release of Vice City on iOS and Android. The game hits the Apple App Store and Google Play on December 6.
