  • Watchers of the Game of Thrones series on HBO only have a few more days to wait before winter comes, as the second season premiere debuts on April 1st. Players of the Game of Thrones RPG, however must wait until May 15th.

The game, coming to you from Cyanide Studios and Atlus publishing, is based on George R.R. Martin’s epic novel A Song of Ice and Fire as well as the immensely popular television series. According to the studio, the game won’t be an exact recreation of the novel, but will use it as a taking-off point for a new adventure altogether. That doesn’t mean that your favorite characters will be absent from the RPG, but you will have new plotlines and characters – two of which will be integral to the story.

    From Atlus:

The world of George R. R. Martin’s famous series opens further to reveal a new chapter of the story, written under supervision of the author! Travel familiar locations and meet recognizable characters as you take on the roles of two former soldiers of Robert’s Rebellion who have made choices that led them in different directions. Now, despite divergent goals, they must come together to deal with common enemies, surviving countless battles and foiling the plot that threatens the kingdom.

They’ve just released a new trailer, titled “This is War.” Check it out below:

Earlier this month, a pretty sweet gameplay trailer surfaced. And you can still pre-order the game through selected outlets like GameStop, HBO, or Amazon, and if you do you’ll receive a limited edition art book while supplies last.
