  • Netflix announced on Wednesday that it will launch in the Netherlands in late 2013. This will mark the 41st country where the service is available.

It’s hard to say just what all content will be available, but Netflix does say, “Upon launch, broadband Internet users in the Netherlands can subscribe to Netflix and instantly watch Hollywood, local and global TV series and films, including critically-acclaimed Netflix Original Series such as ‘House of Cards’ and ‘Arrested Development’ whenever and wherever they like on tablets, phones, TVs, game consoles and computers.”

Presumably, users will also have access to other Netflix original shows like Lilyhammer, Hemlock Grove, and Orange is the New Black, as well.

While users will have to wait a while to access the service, the company already has its Netherlands site up, where those who wish to subscribe can sign up to receive an email alert when it finally does launch.

The company claims to have over 36 million members in the 40 countries where it’s already available. These members are enjoying over a billion hours of TV shows and movies per month, Netflix says. It’s unclear whether this includes DVD rentals or just streaming.

Some countries are getting new features in the near future. Netflix will soon be launching user profiles in at least the U.S., the U.K. and Canada, and Canada, at least, will be getting some additional features.
