Netflix just released its monthly update on Internet service provider speed data, ranking the top ISPs in terms of speed for its streaming service. This reflects the month of July.

For the U.S., the month saw some movement in the numbers 4 through 9 range. Charter rose two spots, while Bright House and Time Warner Cable both rose one spot. Comcast, SuddenLink, and MediaCom saw declines in their positions.

"In the U.S., Charter rose to fourth place, up two in the ranking, with an average speed of 3.46 Megabits per second (Mbps), up from 3.37 Mpbs last month," noted Anne Marie Squeo from the Netflix communications team. "Cox, Cablevision and Verizon FiOS retained the top three spots, in that order."

Here's what the rankings looked like in Canada for July:

"In Mexico, Cablevision Monterrey jumped three spots to fifth place with an average speed of 2.90 Mbps. That’s an increase from 2.53 Mbps last month," said Squeo. "In Panama, Cable Onda increased its lead at No. 1, delivering an average speed of 3.17 Mbps in July, up from 2.81 Mbps. In Australia, Dodo/Primus rose to fourth place with an average speed of 2.92 Mbps compared with 2.64 Mbps last month."
