Naya Rivera won't be a series regular when Glee returns for its sixth and final season. She will maintain a recurring role, however, although it's uncertain exactly how many episodes will feature her character Santana Lopez.

This change supposedly took place via a request from Rivera. The network and producers were reportedly happy to comply. Something else that was reported several weeks ago was an on-set blow up between Naya Rivera and Lea Michele. Naya was rumored to have been fired as a result of it. Sources are reporting that Naya Rivera wasn't fired and that her spat with Lea Michele had nothing to do with these changes. See the video clip above for more news on the girl fight.

"There is no truth to the rumor Naya has been fired from the show. She remains under contract to Glee," the studio that produces Glee said in a statement.

In addition to that rumor, another one surfaced saying that Naya Rivera had been dropped from Columbia Records. That, too, is false.

"Someone obviously has an agenda to damage Naya's good name and the media are failing at their duty to responsibly vet their sources and verify what is true and what is not. Naya's attorneys are prepared to take any and all legal action to enforce and protect her rights," the actress's rep said in a statement.

"Naya wants to have more time to explore her music and other endeavors," a source close to the Glee actress said.

One of character Santana Lopez's endeavors during season 5 involved her love affair with Demi Lovato's character.

Glee is set to go on an extended hiatus this year, returning in 2015. Originally slated for a 22-episode run, the final season may be reduced to fewer episodes than anticipated.

Do you think Lea Michele's fans might be behind these rumors about Naya Rivera? Are you disappointed that you won't see more of her character, Santana Lopez, during the final season of Glee?
