  • A Muslim woman was kicked out of a Donald Trump campaign event on Friday after she stood up and silently protested during the Republican presidential candidate’s speech.

According to a report from CNN, Rose Hamid is a 56-year-old flight attendant. She was seated directly behind Trump at the rally held in Aiken, South Carolina. She stood up during his speech when he hinted that Syrian refugees were affiliated with ISIS.

Even though the Muslim woman didn’t make a sound, those surrounding her chanted Trump’s name. They were instructed to do so by his campaign staff prior to the event, in the case of protests.

Rose Hamid and Marty Rosenbluth, a man beside her who stood up as well, were booed as they were escorting from the event by police.

“You have a bomb, you have a bomb,” one person shouted.

“The ugliness really came out fast and that’s really scary,” Hamid told CNN during a phone interview after the event.

“There is hatred against us that is unbelievable,” Donald Trump said after the Muslim woman, as well as three other people, were escorted from the building. “It’s their hatred, it’s not our hatred.”

“I figured that most Trump supporters probably never met a Muslim so I figured that I’d give them the opportunity to meet one,” Hamid said prior to the Trump campaign rally, wearing a shirt that read “Salam, I come in peace.” “I really don’t plan to say anything. I don’t want to be disrespectful but if he says something that I feel needs answering I might — we’ll just see what strikes me.”

What’s your take on Trump campaign members having a Muslim woman who protested silently removed from the event?
