  • Miranda Lambert has had an event-filled summer, and while not all of those events have been good ones–like her divorce from Blake Shelton–this latest one has filled her with a sense of honor and pride.

Alongside the legendary Johnny Cash, songwriter Steve Cropper, and Gaylord President and CEO E.W. “Bud” Wendell, Miranda Lambert will soon have a star on Nashville’s Music City Walk of Fame.

The five-time CMA and six-time ACM Female Vocalist of the Year shared her excitement in a statement to the media.

“Thank you so much to the City of Nashville and Music City Walk of Fame for this honor and privilege,” Miranda Lambert says in the press release. “I am proud to join a heritage of other female inductees, such as Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Trisha Yearwood, Reba McEntire, Emmylou Harris and Martina McBride. This is a milestone moment that I will cherish forever. I want to congratulate my fellow inductees, Steve Cropper, E.W. ‘Bud’ Wendell and the legendary Johnny Cash–just saying his name alongside mine, takes my breath away.”

Miranda Lambert’s fans can go to the free event, scheduled for October 6th at 2:00 p.m. Lambert, along with Steve Cropper and Bud Wendell, will attend the event.

On the heels of her divorce from The Voice coach Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert’s summer has been somewhat salvaged by this, and one other tidbit of exciting news. In addition to her star on the Music City Walk of Fame, Miranda Lambert is set to go on tour with Kenny Chesney in 2016. This is the first time the two will have toured together since 2009.

Congratulations are certainly in order as Miranda Lambert ends her summer with this run of exciting, career-affirming news.
