Miley Cyrus Says Indiana Governor Is an Asshole

  • Miley Cyrus has joined the chorus of Hoosier Haters who take issue with the recently enacted Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

Miley Cyrus took to Instagram to announce her disdain for Indiana governor Mike Pence, who signed the controversial bill into law this week.

Following her brother’s lead, Miley announced to her 16.9 million Instagram followers:

“You’re an asshole @govpenceIN cc: the only place that has more idiots that Instagram is in politics @braisoncwukong thank you for standing up for what is right! We need more strong heterosexual men fighting for equality in both men and women! Why are the macho afraid to love muchoooo?!?”

Her Instagram post featured a picture of Governor Pence, leaving no room for doubt who she was talking about.

Her brother Braison had called on his own 270,000 Instagram followers to tweet to Governor Pence and “tell him he’s an asshole.”

It looks like Pence did not get the message from neither Braison nor Miley Cyrus, because he did sign the bill.

CNBC explains the bill-now-law this way:

“The law allows businesses to use an owner’s faith as a reason to refuse service to customers, including same-sex married couples.”

Since the governor signed the bill into law, Miley Cyrus has found herself in the company of people like George Takei, and organizations like the NCAA, whose Final Four will be played in Indianapolis next week.

“We are especially concerned about how this legislation could affect our student-athletes and employees,” NCAA President Mark Emmert said in a statement. The NCAA is based in Indianapolis, and they are worried that this law could usher in sweeping changes in how they do business and where they host games. He promised to “closely examine the implications of this bill and how it might affect future events as well as our workforce.”
